This week at the Sept. 24 administrative public hearing, the Board of Commissioners approved a letter to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) regarding the Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Area Business Plan.

At the Sept. 24 public hearing, Mesa County Commissioners unanimously approved an approximately $14 million contract and lease agreement with MV Transportation, Inc. to take over Grand Valley Transit operations beginning Jan. 1, 2025.

On Tuesday, Sept. 24, at the public hearing, the commissioners proudly recognized a remarkable group of Mesa County employees who have dedicated 20 to 30 years of outstanding public service! These incredible individuals have consistently served our community with passion and dedication for two decades or more.

At the commissioners’ Sept. 24 regular public hearing, the Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved Mesa County Behavioral Health to apply for the $450,000 Pioneering Ideas: Building a Culture of Health Grant.

Mesa County Department of Human Services (MCDHS) was recognized following successful efforts made to reduce the amount of time it takes to receive support through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) by the Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS) and the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Finance (HCPF). CDHS applauded MCDHS for increasing application processing timeliness by 40 percent in just seven months, and HCPF recognized Mesa County as a top performer among large counties.
